ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Remus Zhong, Singaporean born and bred, loves to ruminate over nuggets of wisdom and chunks of knowledge he gathers from books. From this lifelong habit, he has learned to form coherent ideas from disparate bits of information, a skill that has served him well as an educator, author, and speaker.

Once a student of Singapore’s world-class education system, Remus recalls the struggles he faced with lesson concepts that he could not figure out. Through experience and observation, he now recognizes that once a subject is perceived to be confusing, it becomes distasteful to the learner. As an educator specializing in English, Biology and Chemistry, he strives to present his topics to his learners in a manner that is clear and easy to grasp.

Through Remus’ years of experience, he found that learning is especially effective when its delivery is memorable and impactful. To improve his skills, he watches and models stand-up comedians and prominent professional speakers. What he learns from them, he applies to himself and polishes over time. As a firm advocate of excellent public speaking and presentation skills — and the immeasurable value of passing on knowledge — he actively encourages and
coaches others to stand up and speak up.

Remus wrote The Introvert Teacher after he realized that it is not a disadvantage to be different from his gregarious, extroverted colleagues. As an introvert, he builds rapport easily in small group settings and is keenly observant, able to notice subtle changes in the mood of others. He also words his thoughts carefully, taking the time to form them before expressing himself – something that his peers and learners respect him for when they seek him for advice.

Anna is a giver, a compassionate beacon of light for those in need of guidance, and her own example of living a life filled with power, passion, and purpose has made her the person she is today. Her unique personal story is inarguably her greatest credential, a testament to the fact that a person who is knocked around by life can still come out victorious. Anna now uses her hard-earned wisdom to help others transform their own stories from tales of tragedy to tales of triumph.

Through his journey, Remus learned that he can be his best self only if he embraces who he is, working with his personality, rather than forcing change against it.
