ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Edwin Zapata is a motivational speaker, sales trainer, author, and philanthropist. As much as he prides himself in his work with others, he also emphasizes the importance of using pain and struggle to find strength and be at peace with the hard times as well as the good.

Like most people raised in adversity, Edwin Zapata did not have the grades or financial means to attend any sort of postsecondary school. While everyone else seemed to have their lives all mapped out, he was doing whatever he could to get by, regardless of the consequences. He found himself at an event with people that experienced the same as him sharing success stories. Once he saw it was still possible, he followed the clues of success to create his own story and help others achieve theirs.

Regardless of his great success, he remains an outstanding example of humility, fondly recalling his teen years when he only had one pair of shoes that were rescued from a locker room. His hole-filled shoes helped him determine which days were colder than others. The odds were greatly stacked against him. He could have easily given up and taken a different path in life, but he chose a higher road, with a can-do attitude that helped him overcome those obstacles.

Edwin fully understands that everybody has their own story, but that is precisely why he still believes in the power of people to better their lives. While many would quit on the ones they love or even on themselves, he places his focus on helping them design their own paths to success. This way, they can reach the destination of their dreams, believing not only in themselves but also in others again. Edwin knows all too well that life definitely kicks us down, but he wants everyone to be ready to take the next step when we get back up.
