ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Dr. Naomi Dongelmans is a general practitioner in The Netherlands, a dancer, a speaker, and a leading authority on caring for people with dementia. She researched Alzheimers Disease at Shiga University of Medical Science in Japan in 2005, and is the author of the upcoming book Reinvigorated Caregivers.

Naomi helps people with dementia and their caregivers(or family and friends) to achieve a healthier and happier life. She offers simple and clear information about dementia, and empowers caregivers. Naomi believes that more happiness in the lives of caregivers and those with dementia must be pursued.

For almost a decade, Naomi helped thousands of people to become happier through dancing. Single or divorced men and women quickly make new friends, and those with depression brighten by the combination of movements (where the happy hormones — endorphins and dopamine — are released). People with diabetes become better able to regulate their sugars by moving regularly, and people over 90 feel young again. (Who will invent a walker that allows people to do the sidestep?) And people with Parkinson’s Disease achieve better balance.
