The Three Faces Of Evil

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Christine Louis de Canonville B.A. Hons; MIACP ; MTCI ; MPN LP, CMH; CHyp; has been a Psychotherapist and Supervisor of mental health professionals for over 20 years. She worked in the trauma unit of a psychiatric hospital, and worked specifically with victims of narcissistic abuse in her private practice for many years.

Christine has recognized a gap in the training of many psychotherapists; this book sets out to address the shortfalls in a therapist’s education so that they become better equipped to work with survivors of narcissistic abuse. As part of her health advocacy work she set up her website, (www.narcissisticbehavior.net) where she posts original and much needed information for educating both therapists and survivors. She went on to develop an effective programme for working one-to-one with victims suffering from Narcissistic Victim Syndrome, and developed workshops for educating therapists and other health professionals in the whole spectrum of Narcissistic abuse.

Much of her knowledge has come from her post-grad studies in Criminology and Forensic Psychology, and it is through these disciplines that she has gained her understanding of the The Dark Triad, (Narcissism, Machiavellianism, and Psychopathy). These Three Faces of Evil are vital information for understanding the full spectrum of narcissistic abuse.

It is her vision that narcissistic abuse becomes part of the curriculum of all Mental Health Professionals and other professionals (i.e. Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Police, Doctors, Solicitors, Law Courts, HR management, etc.) who deal with the fallout of this form of abuse.

BOOK DESCRIPTION
The 21st Century has brought with it a narcissistic epidemic, and a flood of traumatised victims that end up in the therapy room. Unfortunately, Narcissism and Narcissistic Victim Abuse (NVS) are subjects that most therapists are unaware of, leaving them ill equipped for recognizing and working with victims suffering from this devastating form of abuse, an abuse that strips them of their identity.

From the boardroom to the bedroom, narcissists are everywhere; they can be parents, partners, friends, bosses, siblings—no one is safe. This form of abuse goes way beyond physical and psychological injury, it strikes at the very soul of the victim, leaving them wondering whether they are literally going mad.

It is imperative for everyone to understand the relationship dynamics that exists between the narcissist and their victims, i.e. their need for entitlement, control, power, grandiosity and specialness. Also, to understand how a narcissist uses seduction and manipulation to “hook” their victims into a dangerous liaison.

The Three Faces of Evil is not only a primer for therapists, but is written for everybody, especially those survivors wanting to understand what happened to them while in a relationship with a perpetrator.

This book will educate and familiarize the reader about the complexity of narcissistic behaviours, giving a basic understanding of The Dark Triad: from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Malignant Narcissism, to the most pathological, the psychopath.
